With competing interests between existing property owners looking for prices to increase – or at least hold their value – and first home owners struggling to save a deposit to get into the market, housing affordability is a highly political and very challenging issue facing young people and the property industry.

A panel of experts discussed issues from a number of perspectives outlining the challenges and solutions around housing affordability.

Guest speakers for the day were:

  • Tim Lawless, Research Director – CoreLogic;
  • Frances Rex, Property Risk – ANZ and member of the Property Council’s Queensland Division Council;
  • Bruce Harper, General Manager Queensland – Avid Property Group and Queensland Vice President of the Property Council of Australia

Moderator:

Daniel O’Driscoll, Investment Analyst – QIC & Chair of the Property Council of Australia’s Qld Future Directions Committee
